P52- "Cabin Fever"

Cabin Fever?  Well here in the South cabin fever is a non issue this year.  The high here yesterday was 77!  It has felt like spring from a month now, which I hope is not an indication on how this summer is going to be.  So why have I posted a crazy picture for cabin fever of the Man Cub?  This is as close to cabin fever as we have gotten.  The Man Cub has truck cabin fever and can't wait to start driving.  He is sitting in the front seat and wishing he could just ride!  He's not 16 yet and I'm  not looking forward him driving!  BOO!

Birdie Bento

My first "kyaraben" or cute bento.  First I put down a "nest" of left over spaghetti noodles with sesame seeds sprinkled on top.  Then I cut one hard boiled egg in half and added sprinkles for the eyes and the beaks.  It is hard to tell from the pics but the sprinkles for beaks come to a point.  A ham flower with cheese circles for the middle, broccoli, cherry tomatoes cut in half then sat on top of rolled up cheese to make toadstools.  On my top layer are picks with cheese cubes, mushrooms, pickles, then a cup of goldfish diced pears and finally a cup of soy sauce for my noodle.  Yummy and cute.

My First Bento!

My Wonderful husband was on business in Japan this past week.  He asked me what souvenir I would like for him to bring home for me.  Of course I answered quickly I want a Bento!!  Not only did I get a a beautiful bento but I also got a nice pair of hashi and a carrying case.  Since I got such a pretty set I had to try my hand at making a bento lunch.  Here is my first try... I made California Rolls and packed in cherry tomatoes, avocado, broccoli and asparagus, I drizzled a bit of soy sauce on my rolls as well.  On my second insert I have a pretty heart shaped toothpick with colby-jack cheese cubes, a cup of peanuts, and finally a small slice of chocolate apple bread.  WOW, I've never eaten this well at lunch time, usually I just eat a plain old bowl of cereal.  My hope is that my bento will help me eat more fruits and veggies for lunch.  Thank you to my husband and the wonderful business men who were nice enough to help him go out into a department store to get me an unconventional tourist gift.

P52- True Love

Dogs always give unconditional and true love to those who love them. On the right Itty Bitty and our Toy Poodle Bosley pause from playing outside for a quick picture. Below KK gives Mia some TLC.  Mia loves to be carried around like a little baby.  Both doggies are spoiled!

P52 - Drink Up

Drink-up... I thought and thought about the picture I would take.  Well I decided that a glass of wine might inspire my picture.  While pouring the wine I realized that the light was bouncing off the Moscato, creating a golden glow.

Love Shadow

My husband and I decided to take a picture of ourselves making a shadow heart on the beach.  We actually took the picture at arms length.  We are truly in love, Happy Beginning of February!
